PARTNERSHIP

The SAFELAB consortium brings together three organisations that collectively contribute strong expertise in vocational education, teacher professional development, social inclusion and trauma-informed practice. Each partner plays a strategic role within the project, ensuring that its objectives are implemented effectively and that its results have lasting impact at institutional, national and European levels. Their combined strengths enable SAFELAB to approach trauma-informed education from pedagogical, social and professional perspectives, creating a comprehensive model for improving student well-being in VET settings.

APVET – Associação Portuguesa de Instituições VET (Portugal)

APVET coordinates the SAFELAB project, providing strategic leadership grounded in extensive experience across Portugal’s VET sector. As a national association working closely with vocational schools, it promotes innovative teaching, quality assurance and alignment with labour market needs. Within SAFELAB, APVET ensures effective project management, administrative coordination and compliance with Erasmus+ standards. It also organises the Portuguese Healing Through Education event, fostering dialogue on trauma and learning. Through its expertise in project-based learning, gamification and competency-based training, APVET supports the integration of trauma-informed approaches in VET and contributes to broader discussions on inclusive education.

PYLON ONE (Greece)

PYLON ONE is a civil society organisation in Thessaloniki dedicated to education, inclusion, community empowerment and mental health promotion. Within SAFELAB, it leads the development of the Trauma Informed Practice e-Handbook, translating research into accessible and practical guidance for educators. The organisation also coordinates the Mental Health and Trauma Awareness Campaign, combining digital outreach with local workshops to engage educators, families and professionals. Additionally, PYLON ONE manages dissemination, communication and project visibility, ensuring broad public engagement. Its experience in social innovation and inclusive pedagogy strengthens SAFELAB’s impact and supports long-term cultural change in VET environments.

Klaipėdos Ernesto Galvanausko Vocational Training Centre (Lithuania)

Klaipėdos Ernesto Galvanausko Vocational Training Centre is a leading Lithuanian VET institution offering diverse programmes for youth and adults. In SAFELAB, it hosts the initial training on trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences, providing educators with essential knowledge grounded in real classroom realities. The centre contributes case studies and pedagogical insights to the Trauma Informed Practice Handbook, ensuring its practical relevance. It also organises the Lithuanian Healing Through Education event, promoting dissemination among national stakeholders. Through strong institutional networks and commitment to inclusive education, the centre supports the integration of trauma-informed practices across the VET sector
